Products need to be grouped into different classes for various purposes, e.g. certain processes are performed for some types of products but not for others. When those processes are performed they may be done differently for different types of products.
However, the classification of product type differs for different purposes. Products may be classified according to:
- Type of product launch
- Tax liability
- Tax approval status
- Type of product (Retirement, Preservation)
- Private vs underwritten (audit exempt vs non-audit exempt)
- Product
- Flexible investments provided (Y/N)
- Type of retirement product (Provident or Pension)
- Risk benefits provided (Y/N)
- Business unit
- Pooling status
- Type of service (investment only, full administration, etc.)
This facility allows a super user to specify the scheme group types and the associated values, i.e. to define what criteria will be used to categorise funds and what the allowed values for those criteria will be.
Select System Data>General>Scheme Group Type.
The Scheme Group Types screen will be displayed.
The following options are available:

NEW |
Flows to the dialogue box New Scheme Group Type to add a global scheme group type record. |

OPEN |
Flows to the dialogue box Scheme Group Type Detail to update or display the global scheme group type record. |
|
DELETE |
The selected global scheme group type record may be deleted only if it has no global scheme group type value records associated with it. |

SCHEME GROUP TYPE VALUES |
Flows to the Scheme Group Type Values screen to add values for the selected scheme group type. |
To add a new scheme group type, click NEW. The JU1AF Scheme Group Details screen will be displayed.
Provide a description and indicate whether any updates are allowed to the scheme group type, and whether any product changes will be allowed.
From the Scheme Group Types screen, highlight the required scheme group type, then select SCHEME GROUP TYPE VALUES.
The JU1A1 Scheme Group Type Values screen will be displayed.
