The system will automatically send a SMS or EMAIL once a step has been completed in the contributions and exits / withdrawal processes.
An SMS batch job runs at least once a day. When the batch job runs, the system will read the SMS table and extract the data for the records for which the value for Sent Indicator is null.
The system will create a delimited text file with the data extracted and update the value for the Sent Timestamp field for each record extracted with the date and time of the extracts.
Once a communication has been sent, the file will be stored in the MESSAGE SENT Folder on the system.
If a SMS has not been sent successfully, the SMS batch job will try and resend the SMS 3 times. After the 3rd attempt, and if the SMS has still not been successful, the message will be stored in a MESSAGE FAILED Folder on the system.
For each Failed communication, a Service Request will be created with a process of FAILED COMMUNICATION and with an Activity Name equal to FAILED COMMUNICATION. For more information refer to

From the General menu, click alongside SMS Report on the sub-menu on the left. Additional options will be displayed.
When Sent, Pending or Failed is selected below SMS Report, the following screen will be displayed:

When SEARCH is selected, the system will read the SMS table and find all of the records for which the Date of the Timestamp is equal to the Date captured and the Sent Timestamp is not null.
If a Process is selected, the system will extract the SMS records with a Business Process equal to the Business Process selected.
If a Scheme Code is selected, the system will extract the SMS records with a Scheme Code equal to the Scheme Code captured.
When SEARCH is selected, the system will read the SMS table and find all of the records for which the Date of the Timestamp is equal to the Date captured and the Sent Timestamp is null. The details of the SMS records will be displayed.
When SEARCH is selected, the system will read the SMS table and find all of the records in the MESSAGE FAILED Folder. The details of the SMS records will be displayed.
