Every day, Vision will poll the directory for work. If there is work the file will be loaded and immediately removed from the directory. In the same way, Vision will know that work has been done that is required to go to SAP and hence Vision will create and place a file in the SAP directory.
Vision has a pre-work area, and mechanisms to restore that area if a problem occurs exist. The normal process is for the user to confirm the data by authorising the remittance or received data.
A report will also be provided that shows the monetary variances at the time of authorising, so that the user can be pre-warned to check. There are existing reports that show all changes that have been made to a record.

Where applicable, a version number will be implemented on interfaces to ensure that the business is notified if a file is missing or loading out of sequence. This version number will be the same for all files within a set of files in respect of Interface 1 and Interface 4.

No version numbers are stored for interfaces 3 and 3b.

The convention for the text file name in each case is as follows:
Positions 1 – 3 = File Identifier
Position 4 = Paycentre (P = BARCAP, S = GROUP, W = WEALTH).
Positions 5 – 8 = Version Number
Example:
A set of Interface 1 files from Group would be named as follows:
BSCS2033.txt
ADRS2033.txt
HRS2033.txt
SLYS2033.txt
This will be controlled by the programs automatically so that no manual intervention is required.
The details from any control files received are recorded in the error log for the user to review.
During the processing of the files, the existing process of recording when starting and finishing together with how many records have been processed per interface file using the Event Category = INTERFACE, will be used.
If there is a discrepancy between sequence numbers of files or when the full set of files in an interface group is not received, do not load the files, as system intervention is required and hence an error in RED will be displayed in the view log status and an email will be sent to the user linked to the pay centre.
The following are the file layouts that the SAP area will produce for daily and monthly processes.
SAP to Vision Automated Interfaces
The interface files generated from the various SAP systems are placed in a common interface directory where these files are transferred from UK Pension Administration to ABSA and retrieved and imported into Vision.
