Miscellaneous updates made since last release, including the correction of minor errors, enhancing readability, etc.

CC1533

A new “View Tax Calculation” menu item for the JU4DC Membership Payment Maintain screen has been added.  This menu selection details the exact Projected Taxable Income calculation in a new screen that displays when View Tax Calculation is selected.

A new process for administering deferred annuity increases for members, spouses and disabled dependents who reach a predefined age, has been added.

The system now provides a view of the Pre-existing Medical Condition specified at the time of the capturing of new Policyholder details, to assist the user in completing the benefit input questions, affecting the outcome of the benefit payable to the member.  In addition, the system now displays the Illness Type related to the disability at the time of initiating the claim, as well as displaying the Illness Type when completing the benefit input questions.

The system now allows for the storage and selection from a list of Doctors and Hospitals so that the Doctor responsible for the certification of a Disability claim can be selected.  This data may now also optionally be selected when processing a Death claim.

An additional field has been added to the My Work Service Request for the process of Contributions, to record the number of memberships in the contribution schedule.  This will provide a comparison between the number of employees on the Contribution Schedule and the total number of LIVE memberships as at the end of each month.  This field has also been added to the Contributions History Report and the My Work Report extract.

The My Work Policy Changes service request now includes the updating and authorization of the Policy Holder Contact details record.

A set of Commission Reports have been added for reporting at the following levels:

·        Product - Summary report for a product

·        Policy - Detailed report at policy level

·        Distribution Channel - Summary report for a distribution channel

Two new summary reports have been added to the existing Endowment Reports:

·        Active Details - Summary Report

·        Inactive Details - Summary Report

 

This allows the user the facility to create a summary report of the information produced by the existing Active Details and Inactive Details reports.  In addition, the user is provided with the option of producing these reports showing the totals for the date selected and grouped by any of the following criteria:

·        Product

·        Sub-Product

·        Distribution Channel

·        Branch

·        Consultant

For the Endowment product, Policyholders can select to have the maturity benefit paid in tranches on each Maturity Pay out Date.

A batch job will now run every night and generate the notifications for Endowment policies for which a maturity payment is due and will create the workflow items to initiate the claim.

The individual debit order increase batch job has been changed to include the calculation of increases to the sum assured for Endowment products.  Increase notifications will be generated but the new payment records will not be created until the expiry of a defined period prior to the date of the increase.  This allows Policyholders to have an opportunity on the policy anniversary date to opt out of the annual increase or to change the payment frequency.

Functionality for the set up of a mandate and the guidelines governing ad hoc payments to minor beneficiaries has been added.

Additional rules have been added in addition to the application of asset allocation percentages based on age and investment amount.  These are:

·        The allocation of investments is now based on age and investment amount.

·        The allocation of a percentage of the investment amount to a cash portfolio is now subject to a minimum and maximum amount to provide liquidity for the payment of ad hoc expenses and a regular allowance.

·        The re-calculation of the asset allocation in cases where the regular payment is in excess of the expected income to reduce the investment in an equity portfolio.

Additional interface method types have been added for different Asset Managers managing the investments for a Scheme.  An extract report has also been provided.

Requirements have been added to set up Capital Budget parameters and to calculate a beneficiaries’ annual budget.  Changes required to set up the guidelines governing capital payments are included.

Functionality has been added to be able to deactivate a beneficiary record and not enable any changes to the record or any payments.  This is enabled by creating and processing a My Work Service Request.

The system now validates the value captured for the IT88 Reference Number on the Tax Directive page in the Benefit Payment process. As well as supporting upload of the Tax Directive Request return file from iTax.

New functionality has been added to cater for the capturing of a nominated adult in cases where one or more of the beneficiaries are minors.  In cases where the beneficiary is a minor the benefit will be paid to a Guardian who will not receive a portion of the total benefit but will simply be recorded as the person to whom the individual minor beneficiaries portions will be paid.

Functionality has been added to upload a Standard Bank bank statement file.  Once the bank statement file upload has completed the system will automatically start the Bank Reconciliation batch job.

A Liquidity Review Process has been created to authorise switches for Beneficiary Funds.   

 

A Batch Job runs each month to calculate the market value of each of the Member’s investments in the Liquidity Portfolio.  If the market value is less than the value for the Top Up Cash Amount for the scheme, switching transactions are created to switch the money to the Liquidity Portfolio.  A My Work Liquidity Review Service Request is created in order to authorise these switches.

For the Endowment Product, functionality has been added to calculate the increase in the sum assured at a rate proportionate to the premium increase rate.  Currently the sum assured increases at the same rate as the premium where the policyholder has elected an annual premium increase.

The sum assured will increase a rate of 70% of the premium increase rate and the policyholder may select an annual increase of the following values:

·           0%

·           5%

·           10%

If the policyholder elects an annual premium increase then the sum assured will increase at the following proportion rates per premium increase rate:

·          5%   3.5%

·          10%  7.0%

Functionality for the segregation of duties has been added to ensure that if a change is made to any information for a claim, any of the users involved in the processing of the claim or amending the details of the claim may not also authorise the claim.

For Beneficiary Funds, the following reports have been added to provide data for Beneficiary Administration Reporting under System Reports > beneficiary Fund:

 

·        Combined Extract - an extract of all deceased, Beneficiary and Guardian details stored on the system.

 

·        Org Payees - details of all Organisations or Persons who are Beneficiary Payees.

 

Guardian Payees - details of Guardians who are payees and to whom the beneficiary portion is being paid where the beneficiary is a minor.

The SARS submission file that is extracted bi-annually has been updated as required for the 2017 tax year submission per the SARS Public Release Business Requirements Specification: PAYE Employer Reconciliation.

The changes made are in respect of the Tax Extract files for Annuities and for Lump Sums (Benefit Payments).

Additional document tags for Members have been added for the document templates to display the address details for the beneficiary linked to a membership so that the address details stored for the Beneficiary or the Guardian of the beneficiary can be displayed.

The functionality has been provided to populate the Document Letter with the disposal amount for each of the individual disposals.
