Miscellaneous updates made since last release, including the correction of minor errors, enhancing readability, etc.

CC1354

The addition of a facility to allow the processing of service requests for the launching of a New Employer on My Work.  An Employer Confirmation Letter has been made part of the Update Product and Authorise Update step.

Updates have been made to the screens for the Endowment Product:

-    A “Close” button has been added to all screens

-    An “Amendment Letter” button has been added to “Policyholder Details” screen

-    An “Effective Date” field has been included on the  “Policyholder Details” screen

-    The “List” button has been removed from the “Country of Residence” field on the “Contact Details” screen

-    The “Submit” button has been removed from the “List of Beneficiaries” screen

The Expense Billing documentation has been updated extensively to show the separate processing for the Endowment Product and then the separate processing for all other Products iro Expense Billing and Commission.

A note has been made in the manual that in order to allow for multiple partial withdrawals the value of MULT PARTL WDWL must be selected from the drop-down list for the Type field on the JU1EU Territory Parameter Maintain screen.

Changes to provide for the accrual date on the tax directive request to be set to the date on which the claim form is signed.  The facility to define the Benefit Accrual Date field is provided on the Scheme Details screen with the following options:

-    Date of Exit

-    Claim Form Date

-    Tax Directive Request Date

For the calculation of late payment interest, an option to select Accrual Date has been added to the Scheme Details screen in order to be able to calculate late payment interest from a different date to the two alternatives currently in use. A Claim Date field has also been added to the Claim Request screen to facilitate the capture of the claim form date to be used as the Accrual Date.

Functionality has been added so that if a scheme with a Pooling Status of Main Umbrella is selected, then the Annuities reports will display details at a Main Scheme level.

Functionality has been added to the Expense Billing process to cap the fees for unclaimed benefit members to a maximum of the interest for that month.

Functionality has been added to provide the ability to set up additional annuity rates for the calculation of the annuity that can be purchased from the fund on retirement where the Member’s spouse is younger or older than the Member.  A field has been added on the Benefit Projection screen to allow for the input of the dependent’s date of birth.  The dependent’s date of birth is used to determine if the dependent is older or younger than the member and to calculate the difference in age. This is then used to look up the applicable annuity rate.

Functionality has been added to create a Capture Annuity Service Request in My Work when a retirement claim has been processed and authorized and the Pension Payment indicator is Payable from Fund.

New functionality has been added for the generation of a service request in My Work when investment switching transactions have been generated and the manual creation of service request to process individual member switches, bulk switches, bulk allocations and bulk life cycle allocations.

For Endowment Products, the data for any changes made to certain Policyholder fields will not be committed until they have been authorized.  Authorization of amendments to Policyholder fields is managed by the Policy Changes Process in My Work.  Changes to Personal Information for a Policyholder can be viewed using the Amendments menu item. 

Provision has been made for authorization if any of the following is changed on the system:

-    Cover Details

-    Premium Details

-    Bank Account

-    Beneficiaries

The following Reports have been added under MI Reporting for the Endowment Product:

-    Active Details

-    Inactive Details

-    Movements

CC1378

A pre-claim Process has been created.  This process allows for the following:

-    Receiving notification of a pending exit

-    Sending the appropriate claim form to the member

-    Following up the completion and return of the claim form

-    Sending the details to a Tracing Agent if no response is received

Once the fund is notified of an exit, the member’s investments are transferred to a money market portfolio on the date of exit.  When the claim form is received, the claim payment process is started. After six months if no claim form has been received, the members details are sent to a Tracing Agent to try and locate the member.

Functionality has been added to provide for the capture of a planned retirement date for a member and for this date to be used in the life stage switching process to determine the life stage investment membership group to which the member should be allocated.  Provision has been made for members to transition their investments to a more conservative portfolio from five years prior to the date that they expect to retire rather than based on the fixed normal retirement date.

Workflow items (service requests) are created in My Work to process Pending Life Cycle Transfer members and Pending Life Cycle Switches members.

Validation has been added to Payroll to allow for a member who is exited but not finalized, to rejoin the scheme as a Live member.

The addition of “Identity Type” to the JUH0 Member Take-on Layouts.

Subsequent changes made to the Unsuspended Annuities Report in order to display all schemes in the Report.

The Bank Name field has been added to the BNK001 Branch Take-on Layout.  This has been added because the same Bank Codes are used in different countries.

The following functionality has been added to the Endowment product:

-    Selection of premium payment frequency as this is currently defaulted to monthly

-    Selection for a policy of the number of tranches in which the maturity benefit will be paid

-    Selection for a policy of the distribution channel via which the policy was processed

A Policy Type field has been added to the Policyholder Details page and a drop down of the available Benefit Membership Groups provided and the Benefit Membership Group defined as the default group is displayed. The premium rate tables are now defined with a frequency and the payment frequency defaults to the frequency for the rate table linked to the Benefit Membership Groups selected.

Commission Membership Groups are now set up for the combinations of distribution channel and staff/non-staff classification, and the commission rate tables linked to these Membership Groups. A Distribution Channel field has been added to the Policyholder Details page and the Commission Membership Groups displayed for selection.

Functionality has been added to cater for electronic fund transfers (EFT’s) via Barclays Integrator Kenya.  The system will create separate files for payments and debit orders.

Additional fields have been added on the Policyholder Details pages for the Endowment Product in order for them to be captured for the Kenya Endowment Product.

The enhancement of Life Stage investment categories and investment Rebalancing to enable the periods between Life Cycle changes to be defined in periods less than a year.  Also included in this change is the application of the re-balancing functionality to life cycle switches i.e. to only switch out the portion required in terms of the change in investments.

For the Endowment and Credit Life Products, the Postal and Residential Address fields on the Contact Details screen have been swopped around and the “Same As” tick-box has been changed .

For Products in countries where decimal places are rounded, functionality has been added so that any premium amounts collected via debit order and any payment values will have their financial transactions values rounded to the nearest 5 cents.

For Products using the flexible benefit rules, the Option selected on the Benefit Claim Results screen in the Benefit Payments Process will be displayed on the JU8CN Benefit Payment Process screen.

For the Disability and Death Claim Process for the Endowment Product, validation questions have been added to determine if a claim is paid out or repudiated.

If a Death Claim is repudiated, an option is given for a surrender claim to be paid out and the policy is end dated.

If a Disability Claim is repudiated, an option is given for the policy to be made paid up. 

In addition to this an Ex-Gratia or Loss Event payment can be processed where a management decision is taken to pay out the claim irrespective of the repudiation. For this, any value can be paid out based on the outcome of the decision.

For the “Policy Changes” Process in My Work , the process of updating and authorizing changes to the following policy records has been updated:

A Bank Mandates Report has been added under Scheme Reports to generate a report of all new policies or amendments to the name, bank account or debit order date for existing Endowment policies.

Fields for “Original Term” and “Tax Pin Number” have been added to the Credit Life Insured Lives Input File.

Functionality has been added to so as not to change the Membership Status if the reason for a debit order rejection is because a mandate has not been loaded and for no letter to be generated.  It also includes the changes to update the policy status to Not taken up if the second debit order is rejected and no previous premium has been collected.

Functionality has been added to cater for the calculation of a monthly fee for annuitants based on a fixed amount or a percentage of the annuity amount.
