Rebalance Investments (Retirement Fund)

This facility enables the automatic rebalancing of investments at specified intervals, by aligning the monetary investment balances with the allocation split percentages.

To rebalance investments, click  alongside ALLOCATION / SWITCHES on the sub-menu on the left.  Additional options will be displayed.

Select Rebalance Investments from the sub-menu on the left.

The Rebalance Investments page will be displayed.

This screen displays a list of the balances portfolio.

The current investment allocation will also be displayed. 

To rebalance investments, click REQUEST REBALANCING.  The Rebalance Investments screen will be displayed.

This screen displays the current investment allocation.

Date Effective

The DATE EFFECTIVE field is the first date on which the rebalancing will be processed.  The system defaults this date to the current date.  If a different date is required, it must be captured in this field.

Note:

The date effective must be the current date or a working day in the future.

Rebalancing Frequency

This field allows for the frequency with which rebalancing must take place to be defined.  Select one of the following values from the drop-down list, and then click REBALANCE:

-       ANNUALLY

-       BI-ANNUAL

-       MONTHLY

-       ONCE-OFF

-       QUARTERLY

If ONCE-OFF is selected, investments will be re-allocated on a regular basis.  The following warning message will be displayed:

Some of your existing investments will be transferred to other portfolios so that the value of your investments will be in the same proportion as your selected allocation.

Do you want to continue?

Click CANCEL to cancel the selection or click OK to continue.

The system will determine the switches required to achieve the desired investment allocation. 

If ANNUALLY, BI-ANNUALLY, MONTHLY or QUARTERLY is selected, the following warning message will be displayed:

Some of your existing investments will be transferred to other portfolios so that the value of your investments will be in the same proportion as your selected allocation.

This will be done MONTHLY.

Click CANCEL to cancel the selection or click OK to continue.

The Rebalance Investments page will be created and the following message will confirm that the rebalance request has been saved:
