Before a product can be converted, it needs to be launched. This involves the creation of the necessary product details in the system.

The conversion of a product involves three main activities, viz.
- the conversion of member data and values from the Client's existing system to this system
- the take-on of the correct accounting values
- the catch-up or reprocessing of the contribution cycles
It is important to follow the process in the correct order. This document is intended to assist the administrator during the conversion process, and its structure follows a logical and recommended sequence. It can be used as a checklist, to be filed with the product conversion documents, or it can be used as a simple "memory trigger" to ensure that all bases have been covered.
To make the conversion easier, the Vendor has developed a data conversion tool that automates much of the process (optional). It provides for the bulk upload of product, member and financial data.

There is also a member take-on coding sheet (Excel spreadsheet), which facilitates the capture of member information, and formats the data into the correct file layouts. Use of this spreadsheet will save a lot of time and effort, and is available from your Vendor consultant on request.
