These functions can only be done by another user with Superuser access.
Log in to the system from the Logon page.
Click processes, then click contributions.
The Welcome screen will be displayed.
From the main menu on the top, select Payroll. The Payroll screen will be displayed.
From the main menu on the top, select System Administration. A sub-menu will be displayed on the left.
Click alongside Access Control. Additional options will be displayed.
Access (i.e. permissions) to the various web pages is assigned to roles. Linking permissions to roles would have been done as part of the overall set up of the system. Over time, roles may change, or new permissions may need to be linked to existing roles.
To link permissions to roles select List Permissions to Roles from the menu. The Link Permissions to User Roles screen will be displayed, showing the possible permissions, and the permissions already linked to the selected role. A short description of each permission is also displayed.
A list of available permissions to select from will be displayed on the left, and a list of permissions already selected will be displayed on the right. Select the required role from the drop-down box and wait for the screen to refresh. Select or de-select permissions as required and click SAVE.
The above steps must be repeated for each role that needs to be linked to permissions.
Note:
To see the name of a page, place the cursor on the menu option, e.g. Link Permissions to User Roles. Provided the status bar at the foot of the web page is visible, the name of the page will be displayed, e.g.LnkPermissionsToRoles.asp.
If the status bar is not visible, it may have been de-activated in the browser settings (e.g. View>Status Bar).
To assign roles to a registered user, click Assign Roles to Users from the menu. The Search Users screen will be displayed.
To select the user, provide as much of the search criteria as possible and click SEARCH. Alternatively, click LIST ALL. A list of all users will be displayed on the lower portion of the screen.
To sort the list by SURNAME, FIRST NAME, ID NUMBER OR DATE OF BIRTH, click on the relevant column heading.
To see more registration details of the user, click on the name in the SURNAME column.
Select the user by clicking Define Roles. The Assign Roles to User screen will be displayed.
This screen displays a list of Possible Roles and a list of Roles Played.
In order to assign roles. select a role in the Possible Roles list and click ADD. The selected role will be moved from the Possible Roles list to the Roles Played list.
In order to remove an assigned role from the Roles Played list, select the role in the Roles Played list and click REMOVE. The selected role will be moved from the Roles Played list to the Possible Roles list.
In order to return the screen selections to their original values, click RESET. All roles added or removed from the original lists will be restored.
To complete the assignment of roles to the user, click SAVE.
The Search Users screen will be re-displayed. A role (or multiple roles) will have been assigned to the registered user.
Another selection can be made, if required.
