Formula Applied To (UDPV Definitions)

The following table contains the values for the UDPV object FORMULA APPLIED TO and a description of how each one is to be used.

AMOUNT

An instruction to do a look up on the Member Information table where the Member Information Type is Amount. The Benefit Scale Classification will further define what Amount Sub Type to retrieve

ANNUITY AMT

Existing - used with non salary based FAS product (death of member after retirement)

ANNIVERSARY SAL

An existing used with FAS products.

ANNUALISED CONS

 

BENEFIT AMOUNT

 

CONTRIBUTIONS

An instruction to retrieve transactions from the Member’s contribution account. Used for refund of contribution calculations with no interest included.

SERVICE BOUGHT

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the Type matching this value

SERVICE CREDIT

Instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the Type matching this value

HOURS

An instruction to look up on the Member’s Salary table, the Type matching this value

INCOME TYPE

An instruction to look up the Member’s investment accounts

MONTHLY SALARY

An instruction to look up the Members Salary for the type specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

OFFSHORE

 

PENSION PAYMENT

An instruction to look up the Member’s Pension Payment record for the type specified in the Benefit Scale Classification (refers to take on data)

 

The latest ANNUITY pays pension payment record is retrieved for the member.  No Classifications exist for this FAT yet.

PENS PYMNT ORIG

The initial Pension put into payment as at date of incapacity.  The 4 character Classification values map to the Type on the Annuity Payment record.  The latest annuity payment is retrieves and this amount is used.

SERVICE NORMAL

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the Type matching this value.  The Benefit Scale Classification will further define the Sub Type to be retrieved.

SPOUSE

An instruction to look up the Spouse linked to the Member via the Client Relationship

TERRITORY

Look up the value of the Territory Global Parameters as specified by the Benefit Scale Classification based on the Territory where the member is resident.

PENSION TAKE-ON

An instruction to look up the Member Information table, the value matching the pension take-on value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

PENSION SHARE

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the value matching the pension sharing value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

GMP

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the value matching the GMP value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

GRADED SALARY

Existing code used with FAS products

MEMBER CHOICE

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the value matching the Flexible Retirement Choice value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

RETIREMENT AGES

An instruction to look up the Eligibility Rules on the Benefit Structure Version, the value matching the value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification

RETIREMENT DATE

 

ANNUAL SALARY

An instruction to look up the Members annual Salary for the type specified in the Benefit Scale Classification.

RISK SALARY

An existing code.

SALARY

An existing code.

ACCOUNTING

Indicates, together with the associated Classification, which Accounting Activities to read on the Accounting Association.

LTA

An instruction to look up on the Member Information table, the value matching the Flexible Retirement Choice value specified in the Benefit Scale Classification.

SPDATE

 

TAX

An instruction to look up the tax rate or amount on the tax tables.  This is the additional recovery charge to be levied on the value of the member’s benefit exceeding Life Time Allowance.

The tax table for the Currency, Territory and Tax Type is retrieved and the latest rate is returned. The Currency and Territory on the member’s record is used and where these do not exist, then the scheme Currency & Territory is used.

TAXRATES

An instruction to look up the tax rate or amount on the tax tables.

MEMBER

Indicates to the Classification or various Calculation Methods to use the member’s data vs. the SPOUSE data.

BENEFICIARY

Will look up from the client relationships linked to the member, those matching the Classification defined.

Also can be used with a Formula Type of CALCTYPELOOP which will then loop through all the Beneficiary records and perform all the calculations below and including the calculation in which it is used.

 

Note:

For claims and quotes, each result calculated in the loop will be linked to the applicable member or beneficiary so that the results can be displayed on the Benefit Results screen. 

FOR EACH FINDEP

Will be used with a Formula Type of CALCTYPELOOP which will then loop through all the beneficiary records of type FIN DEPENDANT and perform all the calculations below and including the calculation in which it is used.

For claims and quotes, each result calculated in the loop will be linked to the applicable member or dependant so that the results can be displayed on the Benefit Results screen.
