This facility provides for the definition of a standard disclaimer message per scheme event. The text of the disclaimer can be edited at any point.
Disclaimers can be defined at either a global level or at a scheme level and could apply to benefits or switching.
The disclaimer text defined at a global level applies to all schemes and all events that have been defined. For example, the disclaimer text for the normal retiral event applies to all schemes using that event.
The disclaimer text defined at a scheme level applies only to that scheme and that event. For example, the disclaimer text for the normal retiral event defined for scheme 1 applies only to scheme 1 and only to the normal retiral event. The disclaimer text for the normal retiral event defined for scheme 2 may be different.
Note:
Where no disclaimer is captured for an event at a scheme level, the system will use the global level disclaimer text for that event.
The following is an example of disclaimer text on a benefit quote screen:
From the JU1BK Scheme List screen, select a scheme and then select Disclaimers>Switching Disclaimers from the sub-menu on the left.
The JV0AD Disclaimers screen will be displayed.
To view an existing disclaimer, highlight
the line and click 
.
The JV0AD Benefit Disclaimers screen will be displayed, showing the disclaimer message defined.
To define a new disclaimer, click 
. The JV0AD
New Disclaimers screen will be
displayed.
Capture the appropriate text, then click 
.

Once a new disclaimer has been successfully added, the Benefit Disclaimers screen will be re-displayed, and the event just added will be listed.
To define a new default disclaimer, click 
. The JV0AD New Disclaimers screen will be
displayed.
Enter the appropriate text, then click 
.
If the selected event already exists in the system, are error message will be displayed.
Click and select an event for which a message does not
yet exist on the system, or delete the existing message and then add a new
message.
When a new disclaimer has been successfully added, the JV0AD Disclaimers screen will be re-displayed, and the event just added will be listed.
To view a disclaimer message, highlight a
message under the Scheme Events with
Disclaimers portion of the JV0AD Disclaimers screen, then click 
. The disclaimer
screen will be displayed.
To delete an existing disclaimer, highlight
a message under the Scheme Events with
Disclaimers portion of the JV0AD Disclaimers screen, then click 
. The following screen will be displayed.
Click 
to cancel the deletion, or click 
to confirm the deletion. The JVOAD
Disclaimers screen will be
re-displayed, and the deleted event will no longer appear.
From the JU1BK Scheme List screen, select a scheme, then select Disclaimers>Benefit Disclaimers from the sub-menu.
The JV0AD Disclaimers screen will be displayed.
To define a new default disclaimer, click . The JV0AD New Disclaimers screen will be
displayed.
Click 
and select an event. Enter the appropriate text, then click .
If the selected event already exists in the system, an error message will be displayed.
Click and select an event for which a message does
not yet exist on the system, or delete the existing message and then add a new

If there is no disclaimer message defined at a scheme level, then the message defined at a system level will be defaulted to.
To delete an existing disclaimer, highlight
a message under the Scheme Events with
Disclaimers portion of the JV0AD Disclaimers screen, then click . The following screen will be displayed.
Click 
to cancel the deletion, or click 
to confirm the deletion. The JV0AD
Disclaimers screen will be
re-displayed, and the deleted event will no longer appear.
