Standard benefit rules

Note:

Different details are displayed, dependent on whether the scheme is unitised, bonus or mixed.  Examples of each type are shown below.

 

Unitised Scheme

The JU4CJ Results Breakdown screen will be displayed.

 

 

Bonus scheme

The JU4CK Results Breakdown Bonus screen will be displayed.

 

 

Mixed scheme

The JU4CI Results Breakdown Comb will be displayed.

 

 

Flexible benefit rules

If the scheme uses the flexible benefit rules, the following Benefit Claim Results screen will be displayed.

The following is a description of the data displayed in the columns on this screen:

 

Option

The benefit package option selected at the time of the claim. 

Product Description

A description of the Product or the name of the Operand used in the calculation.

Package Sequence

The system generated sequence used for this part of the calculation.

Result

The Benefit Product calculation result value.

 

To view a breakdown of a calculation, click on the hyperlinked value in the Result column.  The Calculation Breakdown (Level 1) screen will be displayed.

 

 

The following is a description of the data displayed in the columns on this screen:

 

A description of the product and the amount selected.

 

Calculation

The components and operands of the calculation.

Result

The calculation result.

Action

A hyperlink next to each calculation result.

 

To return to the previous level screen, click the  hyperlink at the bottom left of each screen or click the  hyperlink heading at the top left of each screen.

 

To further break down the amount displayed in the Action column, click on the hyperlinked value in the Result column.  The Calculation Breakdown (Level 2) screen will be displayed.

 

 

To further break down the amount displayed in the Action column, continue to click on the hyperlinked value in the Result column. 

 

When the system has reached the lowest breakdown level, the Calculation Breakdown (Level xx) screen will be displayed, indicating that there is no further breakdown.

 

 

Note:

There is no set limit to the number of levels to which a calculation may be broken down.  The breakdown levels displayed are dependent upon what is coded for the benefit product and/or its scale of benefits.

 

The following is a general description of the data displayed in the columns on the breakdown screens:

 

Type

The name of the benefit product or a description of the calculation or the parameters of the calculation.

From Date, To Date, Percentage, Amount, Years, Months, Days, Term, Factor

The parameters of the scale of benefits of the benefit product. 

Description

A text description.

 

The SAVE SELECTED OPTION pushbutton is not enabled.

 

When DISPLAY ALL is selected, a full Calculation Breakdown (Level 0) screen will be displayed with the details of all of the benefit products and operands contained in the benefit package down to the lowest level.

 

 

When RETURN is selected, the system will return to display the Benefit Claim Requests screen.
