Benefit Payment Update Type: Beneficiaries (FLEX)

Provides for the capture or amendment of beneficiary details.

Death (no GLA)

The processing of a death claim (without GLA) is similar to a withdrawal claim, with the following differences:

-          A withdrawal claim has a screen for PAYMENT DETAILS, which a death claim does not have.

-          A death claim has a screen for BENEFICIARIES, which a withdrawal claim does not have.

From the JU8CN Benefit Payment Process screen, highlight BENEFICIARIES, then click PROCESS.

The JU4BQ Beneficiaries List screen will be displayed.

Note:

When the BENEFICIARIES Update Type is processed, the system will read the Scheme Parameter with a Parameter Type of PAY GUARDIAN and if found will enable the NEW GUARDIAN button on the JU4BQ Beneficiaries List screen.

This functionality allows for the capture of a nominated adult in cases where one or more of the beneficiaries are minors.

In cases where the beneficiary is a minor, the benefit is paid to a guardian who will not receive a portion of the total benefit but will simply be recorded as the person to whom the individual minor beneficiary’s portions will be paid.
