The purpose of this application is to facilitate and automate the updating or patching of the application. Automating this process removes the chances of human error during the process and it should reduce most user intervention as the updates can now be included in a local or remotely triggered schedule.
The automated patching process is a new frontier and should vastly improve system availability and uptime as support staff will not be required to stop and start any services during working hours unless in the case of an emergency patch.
Feedback on completion is presented by an e-mail with a detailed report.
