Rules and entities that apply across all products are set-up at an infrastructure level by a high-level user.
Global types such as income, benefits and premiums, are specified by a super user at a level above the product. Once a global type has been defined, it can be selected for use by one or more products.
The addition of a new income type impacts on the following different areas:
- infrastructure
- income
- accounting
- payroll
The following actions are necessary to add a new income type:
Infrastructure
- Create the new income type at a global level
Income
- Add the new income type to the product
- Create a new income rule for the product
- Link calculations for the new income type to the product
- Associate a scheme membership group to the income rule
- Define the scheme allocation splits
Accounting
- If the new income type for the product is required by an accounting activity, then create new bank account rules
Payroll
- Link income and expense types and calculations
